Any reason why I can't swap to NASA so don't need a magnifying glass to read the Victron. Realize won't be able to make any changes to the setup. Lithium set up. NASA is lovely and large numbers. Thanks

Once again, I am afraid, a post sadly lacking in information. You don't say what Victron equipment you have, so no one can really answer your question. NASA do in the blurb say that their monitors will Monitor LA. they don't mention Li although measuring just V & A probably doesn't matter.

I think they offer a lithium option too. I’ve a lot of NASA stuff on board. It generally just works, made in the uk and helpful folk on the phone should you need them.

As far as I know, the shunts are not interchangeable. So to change battery monitors you'd be looking at swapping out the shunt as well as the display unit. Not a particularly tricky job and the overall circuit would be the same. The Victron seems to have more sophisticated functionality. Do you use the app with the Victron? - I think it only has a tiny screen because really they expect users to use the app for full detail.

The NASA monitor was so handy with old LA battery where a quick glance told you the voltage (important with LA) Guess with lithium volts not so important. Have the bms set to show SOC . The NASA will show the SOC but not so precise. With NASA I don't need my glasses,so handy.Might try the NASA, can go back to the Victron.
Victron bms712, orion smart 18amp, Victron 100 lithium 12v

BMS SOC readout is notoriously inaccurate unless you fully charge the batteries.

Is that for all lifepo batteries? I wondered why my mppt solar would cut off when SOC was showing less than full charge…?

What would you recommend to more accurately show the SOC?

The Victron Smartshunt is pretty good, but no battery monitor is 100% perfect for SOC. There is always a little inaccuracy, but if set correctly it will sync to 100% when the batteries are fully charged. If they don't get to 100% the inaccuracy is cumulative, so it just gets further and further out of step.
