Anyone else not able to load pics onto photobucket today ?Seems to be a new format for the browse and upload page .Browses but doesnt upload. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks for that Shmoo. It uploaded very quickly.I have a blogsite full of pics of other people in our club and nearby clubs boats, very rare for anyone to leave a merssage (or a pint behind the bar /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) so I dont know how usefull anyone has found it.
That seems to have worked. Looks a bit lively! yourboatpix was designed with quite a bit of input from forum members. Let me know how you get on or have any ideas or gripes.
cant be due to the windows edition then.when I try to click the button that choses where the pic is coming from ie my computer , camera phone ,or url I get a little message saying "java script void". Any ideas?

[/ QUOTE ] I did not click on anyof them because the "my computer" tab is the default (in light blue) I just clicked the top "Browse" button to find the pic I wanted to upload, then the upload button to upload it. (It was already resized so did not use the uploading options)
I can change to the other tabs but there is a similar message to what you get in the bottm bar of IE window, what ever it's called. I just ignored that.
This is a test. VicS wanted to know if pictures can be linked from yourboatpix to the forum. I didn't know (shame on me). So if you can see my boat below, they can.
Pix resizer, details to be found in Dog's photoguide (click on signature) can also be useful as you can chop the quality to reduce load times and if you are using a site other than Ph-Buck to host pic.
[/ QUOTE ] Unlike photobucket you do not have a resizing option when uploading. Therefore you would have to resize the picture before uploading. I use a photoediting program the has a resizing function, it also enables me to convert pictures to jpeg format. If you dont have a suitable program then Pix resizer mentioned by colmce is the answer. I haven't tried yet though.
Sorry folks for being the cause of such a big pic appearing.
No, Its me who should aplogise. I put it up there. Sorry.
I guess I didn't realize there was a phyical size associated with a jpg file. I thought that the size the view sees was a matter for the page markup, or in the absence of that, like when you open a raw picture, for the browser. I suppose the forum must be rendering it pixel for pixel
Trust me, I know that now and won't do it again!
Trouble is editing time has expired so I can't get rid of it now.

If you resize the piccie ... upload it to your photo site ... overwriting the large one ... as long as WE others do a refresh page - we will then have smaller picture and not scrolling of screen ...
NB ... if you upload a piccie to any photo site ... link and then find it's too big on your post .... go back to photo site ... re-size ... BUT when you go back to post to check if it's good size - you MUST refresh the page ! I forget sometimes and end up re-sizing too much !!
