A photo perhaps of interest.
Note the ss rings for spin down haul. The VHF antenna (slightly bent) that works well and base doubles as a hand hold when climbing out of the water on stern ladder.
Webbing attachment of main sheet to tubular carbon boom
Apologies for miserable vang must fix it but it never gets much power due to closeness of cabin top to boom.
2 gaps in the stern rail one for O/B attention and one for climbing back on board
A ring just forward of chain plates used for attaching spin poles to make an A frame for mast lowering.
4 small winches on cabin top for halyards reefing etc. Works out well.
Not so clear is spin pole made from CF wind surfer top section mast. (tapered) but can be used either way. Stowed against the mast.

Nice paint job. (y)
What's that pole thing on the stern ?

Looks great Will, though you’re not going to make yourself popular posting sun-drenched pics on a predominately Uk-based forum at this particular time of year. I’m so envious!!!

What design is she? The stern reminds me of a Limbo 6.6, though I’m fairly certain none of them made it to Oz.

Love the name.

Presumably the dazzle paint is something to do with confusing the new Aussie submarines we keep hearing about ?

do you keep bees.

Looks a nice well-sorted boat. What's the headgear you're wearing?
Typical headgear worn by unsavory types frequenting the waterways of the Swan River in Western Australia.

Well spotted on o'lwill's head gear. Comes from the cancer council shop covers neck ears and can't get blown off. So yes always worn on boat. The boat is called a Castle 650 designed and built by a guy (family) in Melbourne. Still in production I believe though this one is the original at 43 years old. Funny you admire the paint work. It is an original from the builder. I just slap a bit more enamel paint on every winter where it gets battered by the hard ali dinghy and jetties. Looks good from distance but terrible up close. No guard rails. I have had them but kept damaging them on jetties and of course impedes climbing on board.
The bearded one is no 2 son and you might just see the head of his son peeping out behind the jib. My fond hope is that son will take over the boat and pass it on to his son. Not that the boat is worth much probably costs 30% of it's value just to own/ operate it. Still has provided a lot of pleasure over 40 years.
re the weather. Yes I am embarrassed at posting photos of lovely weather. Yes I know I am incredibly lucky compared to UK friends. Still spring with rain today but got to 29 yesterday.
