Phillips AP navigator and Autohelm 2000...

i think you're right there, I have a Garmin 128 which I think will perform the same tricks, though I need to delve a little deeper to be certain.
I'll throw the Autohelm back together and (with luck) she's getting relaunched next week so can't wait to see how the Autohelm behaves.
I do need a few bits to anchor it to helm and boat, but have, so far, not had success in locating anything, any suggestions much appreciated.

You can find a copy of the original instructions for the Autohelm somewhere on the Raymarine website - I had a hard copy inherited with the boat - the electronic version denies the existence of attack function but the hard copy describes how it works - if I recall you press +/_ 1 and 10 simultaneously depending which direction you want to turn. It has a tendency to steer too far into the tack so it's important to bear away first. Never tried to gybe with it - will have a go next time out. All quite basic I suppose compared with latest stuff but separate control unit and arm suggests its closer to the current Evo in robustness rather than all in one ST2000.
