I have recently bought a Philips/ Leica mk10 ap professional GPS navigator and need a users manual. Does anyone know where I could download or buy a manual please.
I can find manuals for the mk 8-9 online. I do not have an aerial so any advice on suitable aerials would be appreciated . Thanks Demara.

I haven't seen a Mk10 manual online, but there's a Mk12 manual for free download here and I think that the operation will be very similar.

I have a feeling the antenna for this will be an "active antenna". In other words - a small pre-amp inside an antenna on the aft rail. They are usually fed by 3 to 5V DC using the inner & screen of the antenna cable. If you look for GPS external antennas on Ebay you may well find something at a sensible price- though not maybe specific to the model?
If you power it up and check for any DC at the antenna socket, you will be able to confirm the voltage and polarity involved.

Comar used to be the UK agents for AP-Philips, so they may be able to assist you with information.

I still use a Phillips Ap Navigator with a Leica receiver which was made in NZ but marketed in the UK by Comar though it is not a Mk. 10. It feeds nav. info to a Yeoman plotter which serves as backup to a laptop plotter; I can confirm that Comar on the Isle of Wight (Cowes?) were suppliers of antennae and GPS conversions for the range and also did repairs and servicing.
There were a number of very different models which causes some confusion when seeking information but there have been quite a number of different threads on these products here over the last few years, including at least one comparing characteristics of different models, so I would recommend trying out the 'search' facility
