Wow! What a stunning little gaffer. I have been looking to buy/find plans for exactly this sort of dayboat for years. Here's hoping that someone will identify. Thanks for publishing your lovely picture.

PH is the fishing port registration code for Plymouth. Might be a clue?

The letters could indeed be a fishing registration or it could be one of the many small classes that existed around the area in the early 20th century. I used to own an 18 footer with CH4 in the sail - it was a Chichester Harbour class.

For anyone who wants something like it, the thriving Falmouth oyster boats look pretty similar and they are still being built, at a price.

PH22 - name could be Walter Louis???

The boat is Water Lily. She is a Plymouth Hooker built in 1898. She fished out of Plymouth until 1976. She was restored by Trouts of Topsham in 1998.
