Looking to replace my electric pressure washer with a petrol one, so many to chose from, looking for a long term investment as I've coppecoat and she needs a blow down every few month's, it would do away with trailing leads over the hard. If it could suck up seà water even better. Thanks

Interesting .....

On Chemical Tankers - we used standard pressure washers for both SW and De-ionised ... The only requirement was to flush the machine with FW after SW to avoid SW sitting in and corroding the internals. De-ionised never did them any harm.
When I lived in UK - I used my Karcher with SW ... same deal after with FW to flush out.
Here where the river sometimes after dry period and baltic brackish water is found at my channel - my Bosch washer is fine with it ... again FW after just to be sure. (The Karcher which I had used for many years from UK - lent it out - guy let it freeze with water in .. split the pump casing).

When using an engine driven pressure washer jut ensure the high pressure hose is not resting on a concrete or other abrasive floor as the vibration of the engine will abrage the HP hose and cause it to leak.

Have a look at the Rockwood range. Yes, they are cheap and Chinese but they have a proper UK agent who carries spares in stock. It sounds like a bag of spanners, but starts second pull after six months in the shed and has plenty of power far exceeding electric models. I've had mine for about five years now and am very happy with it. How long it would last in a commercial environment is questionable but if you just want it to run for six hours at a time while you clean your paths and patios as I do then it seems to be lasting fine.

When you're sizing your machine, judge it on litres per minute output at the nozzle rather than pressure and get one that can draw from a tank as well as a positive pressure supply.
I made at least one of these errors.
