Petition to Extend 90/180 Rule.

Question 1 Did UK break international law - NO
Question2 Did EU break international law - YES

It takes an incredible amount of double think to say UK bad EU good when the EU and ONLY THE EU have actually broken the law

You live in a strange world where you say the law breakers are the good guys and the UK are the bad. Where the EU with its less generous terms are good and the UK with the more generous terms are bad.

Question 3 Did I say that the UK government broke the law - NO
Question 4 Did I say that they showed no respect for the law - YES

You are clearly not reading what I wrote - post #38

The UK government has more than amply demonstrated that it has no respect for the law.

Ah now I have it.

EU breaking the law shows respect. UK keeping the Law shows no respect

What a weird world you live in

Let's face it there are no conditions in which you would approve of anything the UK does, and no conditions in which you would criticise anything the EU does

EU said they would trigger article 16 but never did so. Even if they had trigger it it would not have broken international law.
UK did unilaterally extend the deadline for proper checks on gods sent to NI, there's no support for that in the NI protocol and its a clear breach of international law.

Fascinating discussion but may I suggest that rather here in Liveaboard Link, it would gain a far bigger audience, if it was continued in either the Lounge or Current Affairs. ✅

Drifting back (now there's a first) to the OP, in the short-term, I do not think there is a cat-in- hell chance of the Schengen Treaty being amended to 180/360 but in the longer term, the Southern European countries may just bring sufficient pressure to get a change.

Bilateral agreements between the UK and EU countries is more likely but they would not be without their problems.

Much too nice a day to be suck on the computer, so I am off for a walk in Mia Praia. Now that lock down has been relaxed, beach walks are back in.(y):D

Both sides in this argument are using the word "law".., as if we are talking about the 10 commandments or something...

mostly we are talking about agreements that are not binding forever

Did the UK ratify the Ten Commandments? I don't recall that ever happening.

I am convinced there is at least one member of this forum who lives in a parallel universe when it comes to the EU/UK relationship.
