Very sad.
Although basically a motor boater, he always bore us others in mind.
I would guess that his Waypoints Directory will outlast most of his work.
That is extremely sad news. I have enjoyed reading his articles for well over 30 years. I well remember one , many years ago, about an autumn cruise up the river Dart, enjoying the solitude with a few bottles of fine wine. I have just returned from an anchorage above Dittisham, which I have always imagined is where he was writing about. Next time I go up river, I shall enjoy a bottle of good wine and say a toast to PC.
Very sad news , thoughts are with his family.
I have always read with great interest his cruising reports and they have inspired me
On many occasions, particularly now being based in Jersey and exploring his favoured Brittany.
We are currently in Roscoff on our way round to Brest , very much encouraged by Peters report in Septembers MBY.
One thing is for sure, life ain’t no rehearsal so fill your tanks and get cruising
Missed this thread originally and only learnt this morning of Peter's sad passing when I read the editorial in this month's MBY. I too have enjoyed his writing for many years and made full use of his original Waypoints Directory when I was boating in the E Channel. A reminder to us all that life passes quickly and we should take every opportunity to enjoy our favourite pastime, boating, when we can. Peter struck me as the kind of man who did just that. RIP
