Personal "Sea" Space??????

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

The solution; large stereo, high volume and quality yodelling tracks (with ear plugs). Maybe all crew lined up on their side spitting out gobbets of vegetable soup for an hour or two might work - having sailed with two sea sick crew recently I cetainly wanted to get off .

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Well, clyst, it was a bit of a boob on your part, but I'm sure we can remain bosom buddies

(Is that it now? I was trying to fit in cleavage as well but failed. I will award full marks for anyone who can even make a passing reference to décolletage and still keep vaguely on topic)

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

That must be closer to the lightship? If you see us around on the BB385 on the F hammerhead when you are going in and out say hello, you must pass close by.

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Something that no one has mentioned yet, you anchor up, start to settle down with a glass of grape juice and a bit of lunch. The boat 2 - 300 metres away has finished lunch, the kids, bored are sent off to 'play' with the rib tender, where do they 'play' ? Out in open water? No. Near their own boat? No. Yep you've been there, near your boat don't they!!! GRRRRRRR!!

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

About a month ago I had some madman trying to anchor in exactly the same place as us! We had to fend off as he laid his anchor driving forward. It was only later that I realised that on a Sunday afternoon he could well have been pissed.

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

What you don't seem to realise is that they always anchor there and you pinched their spot.
Personally, I always anchor away from topless sunbathers as it's not nice. All that drooling. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Have to say that many times we've had other boats anchoring what looks to be too close for comfort, either appearing to be over our anchor or with little swinging room.

However, once off the boat and into the dinghy, the gaps do (in many cases) look bigger......

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Funnily, I would never take pictures of people sunbathing or anything like that. It's a bit creepy really. That's why I'd be no good as a paparazzi.
(as well as the fact I can never recognise celebrities)

If I take pics of a girl with no clothes on it's because that's what I'm there to do.

ah well some of us (1) believe that's exactly what we are here to do and (2) have to practice hard in order to be able to join such as yourself!

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Thats nowt. Anchored in Salcolmbe once. A Nelson came along and anchored very close. Then asked me to put fenders down as they were bound to collide!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Re: Personal \"Sea\" Space??????

Have to say that sometimes I find I have to anchor closer than I'm comfortable with and it's often down to smaller boats deciding to use the few areas that are the only option for larger ones.

The classic example is Newtown creek where there are only a few spots that I can anchor in, but the deepest spots seem to attract everyone whether they actually need the depth or not (usually not). Sometimes happens on some of the more rugged anchorages in Brittany for the same reason. For Priory bay there is no excuse cause it is huge (unless you were inside the bar).
