Pershing

Ditto I agree with the current route. But I think the first versions of hull windows fitted on the Azimut 68 Plus four vertical to each side was elegant and did not disturb the lines. Things get messy when we started going with the flash glass all over.

But the old models with the windows you prefer now look very out of date.

I'm a huge fan of the Mk 2 Range Rover and I love the shape but I have to admit that it does look dated.

This "SIS" system, worries me a bit - I can see the design and build advantages re lower cost of manufacture by " dropping " components in ( 15% saving on price ? ) , and the resultant wieght savings transferring in being able to power a 45 footer with 350 Hp with stern drives ,then freeing up more cabin space down below As the Abs 45 and others
BUT and a very large BUT, when you walk arround inside these boats constructed by this method they feel lightweight and even when not moving be it at dock or at a show ,things squeak and creak doors do not clunk shut , floor panels move etc,
Thing is for me this is really off putting at boat shows - expression on my face trying to conceal this to the smiling sales bod , times precious I just want to get out - next !
I have noticed this on Abolute, Prinz, Jeaneau, and I,am afraid to say the latest Sealine F42 and SC 35 .Sorry I,am saying it as I found it!
My refference point is a small Sunseeker Portofino35 ,37 ft really ( just replaced by the P 40 )
Here everything is hand glassed in nothing moves, creaks ,squeaks or moves
Even the sofar and bed bases or glassed in ,part of the structure - = solid brick out house feel
The doors are over an inch thick and close on thick bulkheads with a clunk
This traditional construction ( thread drifting here) probably , may partially account for the price of the P40 relatives to immediate rivals
I,ll know within a millisecond of walking 2 paces in the saloon and plonking down on the sofar or closing a cabin door .
What do others feel - have you noticed ?

...

Yes of course.
Thing is, I actually noticed that on each and every planning boat I've been on, bar none.
Even the most solid 30+ kts boat will give you such feeling, If not right from the start, rather sooner than later.
In this respect, if I were considering one, I could as well go for the lighter and accept these drawbacks in advance, 'cause weight reduction does make a lot of sense in fast boats, like it or not.
