Hi ,
Does anybody know where I can obtain a head gasket set for A T6354M.
Please, dont anybody say Diperk, as I have been going round in circles with them and their supposed dealers for nearly three months now.
Apparently, all the decent suppliers like Central Diesels have had their dealerships taken away in favour of diperk.
It appears that Diperks Computer system is far from complete, and doesnt appear to have any info for the T6354 at all.
Thats what happens when you get a load of unqualified people, put em in a callcentre and mix them with equally useless IT People.
There must be literally tens of thousands of these engines still in use across the world...so why no parts??
Ive tried aftermarket suppliers, but have twice ended up with the wrong gasket set.
Th galling thing is we got one in August no problem, from our local Perkins Powerpart dealer, now we have come to do the port engine, he cant supply and has also gone round in ever decreasing circles with Diperk.
Any info in pursuit of the holy grail appreciated.

If anyone from Perkins or Caterpillar is reading this...for christs sake sort it out...please.
A very disgruntled Steve.

Re: Perkins T6354 Head Gasket Set

Thanks.

Nearly there, but unfortunately it's not the marine set, and there are many gaskets missing in the standard set notably the H ex and manifolds differ.

Thanks for looking

Steve.

I have used Golden arrow marine their number is 02380 710371 or you could try Perkins Sabre in Poole they are an main agent and you can talk to a chap who has all the parts numbers for the engine.

Diperk is ok but you must have the part number

OK Tom, Ive sent 'em an email. Ill let you know what transpires.
Isnt it ridiculous when you can get bits for a British built engine easier in the states.
Sad refelection on this country I feel.

Thanks,

I have tried Perkins sabre, they dont answer their e.mail, and when you do phone them up they put you on to one of their dealers as they wont deal direct with the public.
Then you get into another loop, if of course your local Perkins Sabre dealer is interested in the first place, which mine doesnt appear to be as they dont answer e.mails or phone back when they promise to either. Local seems to be a loose concept, with my nearest Perkins sabre place 70 miles away.
The whole thing is a nightmare, and has only started since Diperk came on the scene. Before that there was no problem.

Steve.

I know that they're no where near you, but I've always found Watsons Diesels in wimbledon very helpful. They've sourced hard to find parts for me on more than one occassion.

I use Hindles of Peterborough, they're within spitting distance of the factory. I know they are not a specific marine dealer, but I usually find they can help, as most of the marinised stuff on the older engines is the same as the extra bits for the static engines i.e. for generators etc. Their phone No is 01733 334300, and the man to talk to is Lloyd, who is very good on the parts lists etc.
Good Luck!
