Perkins M135 - corresponding tractor engine

Anyone know the MF tractor engine which corresponds to the M135?

Thanks

Geoffrey

It looks like it's based on the 1006 block, so I reckon you need to search for a mid 90s model 399.
They were an absolute weapon, so much torque.
Stick it in top gear and off you went

I suspect that’s a completely different machine to what the OP was thinking of. I think the OP needs to provide more information.

There were loads of MFs with the 1000 series block. 3000 series, 61 series, 81 series, various combines.
How similar the marine engine is I have no idea...

Brilliant engine the M135. You'll never wear it out.

Had a pair of these in a Broom hull.
50 hours on clocks when purchased, around 1100 hours when sold.
Not a single problem in all that time other than a good clear out of one of the heat exchangers,

A 6 Litre 6 cylinder engine
Easy/simple to maintain and all consumables readily and cheaply available from your local motor factor.
A proper diesel with lots of cubes and torque and so much nicer underway than the frantic stressed thrashings of the green and silver lumps in later boats.
Unfortunately the curse of velocity over practicality took control and the Sabres had to go.
