I have a raw water cooled Perkins 4-108 marine engine fitted to a Beneteau Evasion but it has no sacrificial anodes fitted to it. Having just had extensive alumimium welding done to the exhaust injection bend I would be grateful for any info on fitting anode/s.

Not absolutely certain but dont think the anodes will help with the injection elbow, they corrode because hot engine exhaust + water makes a sulphuric acid & include the turbulent nature of the mixing process add impingement attack as well.

Expect to repair the bend again, in the future.

From personal experiance injection point elbows need annual inspection, and have a short life, 2-6 thousand hours, depending on the amount of sea work , how fast the engine is run etc. although we did have one fail at less than 500 hrs due to poor welds.
