Seems to be ‘Lobster Central ‘at the moment. Yesterday one fella got snagged on the lobster pot and and he must’ve really known it wasn’t his day when the thunder clouds rolled in with 30+ knots of wind and torrential rain.
I’m guessing the RNLI rib crew who attended him, wasn’t exactly over the moon either.
Keep a good lookout here and also all the way out to the Medusa buoy.

The Medusa buoy does seem to also be a magnet for lobster pots. The last few years we have regularly counted 10 -15 black very small and hardly visible markers, probably size of half a football, scattered about 50 to 100 meters around the buoy.

That whole area around the Naze seems to be a minefield and has been for years, by far the worst I've encountered on the East Coast. Does the local Fisheries Officer know, I wonder?

Anybody know how to contact local fisheries officers all ways been bad if you cut the corner off but they shouldn’t be that close to the mudusa buoy .

I often see the local ficheries boys dressed up like SWAT .. I will ask them to have a look.

I don't remember anyone from Essex or I think it was Kent and Essex when I was in Sussex vaguely remember the boat and I think they had an office in an arch somewhere

Has it become that bad in the last 12/15 years? We wore shirt and trousers, most 'protective' thing was a dry suit for boardings - - do they really need SWAT style outfits now? I had one skipper threaten an officer ( who was an idiot) but I persuaded him it wasn't a good idea despite sharing his feelings!

My out look was you get one warning, take the pi$$ again and you're geting a ticket next time, always seemed to work and got respect from the fishermen without causing unnecessary issues or ill feelings.
