I want to use my Pela pump to suck out any water from the bottom of my fuel tank. Trouble is the suction hose is not log enough. Has anyone come across an extension ? Has anyone had success doing this ?
thanks
Martin

I think the easiest way would be to extend or replace the larger diameter tube. If you slide the black sleeve away from the end fitting, you'll see it's just pushed on to a barbed spigot.

There is nothing special about that tube. For draining the tank I use some old polythene pipe inside a length of 15mm copper plumbing tube, just protruding from the end. The copper tube keeps the pipe straight so I can be sure it is in the bottom of the tank and hasn't curled up. I just use gaffer tape to make a seal with the original Pela tube. When I've finished sucking out the crud from the diesel tank I suck though a couple of litres of hot water with washing up liquid to clean the internal pipe out and wipe the rest with a rag.

I used a bit of reinforced clear hose. With a length of 10mm pipe on the end
You don't want anything that will collapse under suction.
A bigger bore clogs less easily with crud.
I added a 1/4 turn valve, I think this makes life a bit easier, you can do the pumping, then control the extraction when you've got the pipe in the best place.
