Pegasus 800 ?

Can anybody on this forum give me any information about this make of boat ?

I have done an internet search but can't find very much information.

What I am particularly interested in is how well they sail and whether there are any major problems with them.

I'm looking specifically at the bilge keel version with an inboard Volvo engine with saildrive.

A friend of mine has got one of these and is more than happy with it. It's a fast boat with loads of accomodation for it's size. If you do a search on the magazine indexes above for "Pegasus 800" you will find there was a buying secondhand report in 1997.

Fantastic boats - I had one for three years - most expensive bit? Probably the Volvo saildrive seal..

Many thanks for the replies.

I'm going for a test sail at the weekend but I think that might just be a formality as it's quite likely that I'm going to buy.

Now how do I break it to my partner, who has been in Canada since April and isn't back until October, that she didn't really want to move house after all !!!

Funny thing that, in my case it was me that wanted to move house but swmbo wanted to stay put. To placate me she said why don't you but a yacht like you've always wanted. The house I wanted to buy has since gone up in value by 100k but hey, I've got a yacht /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Hi,
The Pegasus 800 were built by Pegasus Yachts, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft. Suffolk.
Well designed boats, great sailers, a great many are sailed on the Norfolk Broads, most of my old sailing club members went thru the stable of boats from this yard,
Pirate,Prelude, Pandora, 700, 800, each great boats.
Have the 700 myself and would not change it for any other boat.
