My Peg is yard no 73, had her some years,here in Ireland. Can any soul out there advise me please?

Under the cabin floor at cross section amidships there appears to be a void about 25 mm deep. This space is filling with muck and bilge water. How is this passing from the engine compartment? How can this viod be drained? Can it be filled with foam?

are you sure it's bilge water, or could it be condensation ? That produces a surprising amount of water, and doesn't take much to discolour it...

Could also be a sign of an engine fitting or core plug leaking ?

I'd avoid foam as it won't stop whatever's producing the water, just make it a lot harder to deal with; if there isn't one already I'd think about a handy inspection hatch.

Tracing where this stuff is coming from seems a good idea; one way is to use food dye on potential sources, one at a time.

Also some common foams will absorb water so will give you a harder problem. to deal with.
sort to source of the problem is stage one.
 
This could take some time.....
Does the water reappear for example during laying up ashore, or only afloat? Or both? Does it happen after rain...from a particular direction, or not?
On the assumption that the boat is currently laid up ashore, may I suggest if you haven't alredy done so, that you get everything BONE dry, from which you may? be able to eliminate some sources... if need be, repeat the exercise afloat, & leave some kitchen roll "bandages" around suspect sources. This is of course for small slow ingress sources only.

Hope this may be of some help? Small leaks can be infuriatingly hard to track down.......

Thanks for suggestions, all very sound! Yesterday was a glourius day and boat was dried out and sourse of water ingress found, anchor locker hatch. What I realy need is a x section dwg at midships and for/aft at that point to see how a small bilge pump suction pipe could be introducted to lowest point? A kind of catherter!

I have a cross section web floor in my boat with limber hole.However water gets trapped as the curvature of the bilge is shallow.It may be just condensation, but it needs to be kept dry for reasons of hygiene and to protect the interior from osmosis.
So I slipped a length of soft cord through a piece of clear PVC pipe about 15mm diameter, and left say about 8" sticking out each end.One end is inserted into the limber hole and the other laid on the shiny surface of the bilge moulding.A pampers nappy is then laid over the exposed rope end and secured or weighted down.
Apart from having to replace the pampers at intervals if much water has been allowed to collect, it is a trouble free method of mopping up water from otherwise inaccessible spaces.Might help you,but as you say the source of the leak has been discovered.You must have an essentially dry boat first, before this method is of any use!Duirng winter storage on the hard for example.

I have the 700 version and the yard drilled two holes in the cabin sole, right aft, below the sink, both sides of centre line, covered with two rubber plugs.
Appears that this was a common problem, like you I think my water is coming in through the anchor locker, I don’t get very much water in. I suck it out every few weeks, with one of those plastic pumps, where you squeeze the plastic bulb; some time I get a couple of pints out, other times only a cup full.

I had No 13
just had the hull,deck & lids from Gordon in Dec 1977.
the interior is conventional, with no internal mouldings. she also had a very nice SS.Spar especially made for me
