44 hours on a Suzuki Df 115 ATl. Started motor in Tank and noticed water not coming out of Pee hole. Turn it off and after starting it again water came out immediately. How long should water take after starting a cold engine to see water coming out of pee hole? Should i have waited longer in order to see water coming out? Waited for about a minute and didnt notice water coming out. Switched off. Turned it on and water came out immediately. Something wrong???

Quite often whilst starting a biggish outboard in a tank it will take a little longer for water to pee out. Do it again and poke the outlet with a fine probe. Just to help clear any obstruction that might be lurking

The pee hole is to show you have water circulating at the top of the engine and is not related to thermostat. Probably a bit of crude that once you turned it off dropped back down and went somewhere else on restart. It doesn't take much to stop the flow as they say!

Could it be that the thermostat had not opened in the first minute or so, then when you left it standing for a while, the heat from the engine warmed up the stat and opened it?

i pulled mine off, and had a tag of plastic near the ole.

The day after this occured ( Yesterday ) started the OB again and water came out instantly. Could it be i did not give a chance the OB to be filled with water ? Or im mistaken?

I wouldn't worry about it. The tell tale is there to warn you of a lack of water flow. On a modern outboard, many alarms will sound if it's a big issue and put you limp mode.

The tell tale is not a complex affair and narrow tubing so blocks easily. Bit of floating crud probably. You could flush with salt away to dissolve anything lurking.
