I have an item for sale, not on this site as is over the £200 max.

It had only been posted for a couple of days and I received, via email, a reply, you all know the scam.... They want to pay many £1000's for me to take out my 'cut' and then for me to credit the balance to a third party.

It goes without saying they can get stuffed!!!

Because of these 'sorts' I detailed on the advert that payment would only be cash or bank transfer, it goes without saying you cant go to far wrong with a fist full of folding, but can you still be stung with a bank transfer??

I am tempted, as I have to date, to ignore them and not pass my details over as they have since asked after I said bollocks to their payment method of many £1000’s and they have now agreed to a bank transfer.

What do you all think?

Thanks....

Don\'t touch it

I'll lay level odds it's a con - there has been correspondence on here about similar scams that hinge on the length of time taken to clear a bank transfer.

Fetch the ten foot bargepole................

Yes, this is becoming a better known scam now. Even if they want to do a bank transfer to you, don't get involved. The bank will even tell you the transfer has cleared, but a couple of weeks later the bank will come back and say that the transaction did not complete properly and take their money back.

You will have lost your goods and LOADS of money. Don't be tempted.

Or its a money laundering scam and you've just provided the law with evidence of participation in the scam.

Pay-Pal is a good way of transferring money if you can get people to use it, lots of people use it on E-bay etc.

Thanks all for your thoughts... I wont be dealing with that 'customer' at all.
