its an algaecideAnyone thinking of buying that as a source of hydrochloric acid might be disappointed. The active ingredient seems to be benzalkonium chloride, a biocide/surfactant. Check the label to be sure.

Patio magic contains 7.5% benzalkonium chloride. Does anyone know the concentration in the stuff from Aldi?
Hi Horace been laying low? Did you like the music video thread?Dos'nt sound like an eco friendly sort of thing suitable for a marine environment otherwise I might try mixing it with emulsion paint to see what sort of anti-foul it produces.
Probably good for snails up the garden path on the other hand![]()

It is probably a little more Eco friendly than the anti foul we spread on the bottom of the boat and all the multitude of cleaners and acids we use for cleaning our boats - and probably less harmful than the washing up liquid we let run down the sink plug hole with very little thought. I wouldn't worry about it too much - tough old shell on this snail...
