Part 1 renewing registration

Boat in Faro, papers on boat. Registration needed renewing in October. Realization that the summer cruise could get messed up trying to renew. Phoned MCA up, they emailed me a form which said that they needed the old reg but the very nice girl said didnt need to bother sending in.
filled the form a week ago, sent with a cheque for £49 and the new reg arrived yesterday. Service indeed! Strangely enough it wasn't laminated as usual but there was a short note to say that they werent doing it anymore but I could do if I wished.

Probably recognised your name, remembered seeing you on tele confused you with David Dimbleby or a prominent politician.
 
Stu, be careful about laminating docs in Portugal. PM will not accept any documents not in their original form, met a couple of people who've fallen foul of this stupid rule.
The original last time was laminated from the mca so not too bothered. I remember in Angola a Portuguese admin bloke using a copier and some tippex to play games with docs, I presume the authorities are wise to that.

I had exactly the same response earlier this year, only I'd lost the original.

Really nice to see and efficient and effective service.
