I presume you're referring to Wallas heaters running on diesel, but perhaps you could clarify?
From memory (my last boat had a Wallas paraffin heater) isopropyl alcohol is used with paraffin only if waxing or gumming becomes a problem.
This site had some useful info on both types of fuel (apropos Wallas heaters, but the info is largely generic). Note in particular the caution about deterioration and storage of paraffin:
