Pandora Inn

Russ my family live in Mylor, we grab a pasty from the local butchers :D The Pandora is a pile of pasta pub grub for a crazy price, what you knocked up in your boat for me was nicer. A very nice restaurant to go to is in Mylor Harbour BUT even more expensive, special treats only but then she's worth it ;) and no I don't want any underwear in the post thanks  I don't know, you are always trying to make a quick buck! :D
At the rebuilt Pandora (by road) 2 weeks ago for the first time since the fire: service was slow (Sat night) but food pretty good and reasonably priced for a nice atmosphere. Seemed not a lot of water at the pontoon for a fin-keeler now. Other local options: Olivers in Falmouth town (uphill towards marina from the main street) has a restricted menu but if you like what's on it can be very good. Have had good reports of Miss Peapods in Penryn from younger people. Now the Three Mackerel at Swanpool has turned into Indaba it has deteriorated slightly I think, but still a nice venue.

I'm going to be in and around Falmouth from this weekend for a couple of weeks. SWMBO has said she would like to visit said pub for lunch one day when the tide allows. It's not that clear on their website if you can moor on their pontoon if you plan to eat. I've emailed the question to them, but in the meantime does anyone have any experience of this place.

Where else should we try to get to eat during this stay?
Was at Pandorra last week..sunny evening and high tide, so expect some rafting.Very friendly, lots of families and food pouring out of the kitchens, but we were just there for a pint. Used to be often VERY long wait for food , so I would check before ordering. Pontoon tables obviously fill up in the sunshine.
Down by the maritime museum are some retaurants.. Zilli or something was actually very good, and the deli opposite does tapas, some of which were outstanding. Best pub by far is the Chain Locker by the town quay, top condition bitters, but 55 Degrees or whatever it is called was very popular on band night (Fridays?)with ages from 18 to 80 and was an ok bit of fun.
Mylor used to be good but we didnt go there as we were over at Pendennis Marina.
Fuel is horendous down there so arrive with full tanks !

As stated either side of High Water you will be fine. We are moored in Mylor and just back from a long weekend. Had two good meals in Castaways which is under new ownership, excellent food and very friendly now. The best place though is across the bay in Helford at the Sailing Club. Good food at reasonable prices, friendly welcome to visitors and fantastic views. Well worth going over for a night or two. Visitors moorings seem to be 50p a foot. Other places mentioned in Falmouth also good.

Have a great time

May be worth mentioning....you can actually anchor in the Helford at the head of the moorings...space for at least a dozen boats...and it doesn't cost a penny. Then just a short dinghy ride to the Helford Sailing Club or Shipwrights Arms (both fab) in Helford Village. Or call the water taxi :)

The food at the Shipwrights was the most limited I can remember in years for a pub. Perfectly pleasant pub, though.
