I always used blue tape but is there anything better than ScotchBlue Sharp Lines for achieving a crisp line when anti-fouling? Thankyou.
When I kept my boat in a shed, my neighbour asked how to remove masking tape residue. I told him to try petrol. Now I meant a few drops on a cloth, he used a bucket full and a scrubbing brush. Quickly turn off all electrics !And if you do leave it on too long, white spirit is your very best friend
DO NOT TOUCH ANY ELECTRICS!When I kept my boat in a shed, my neighbour asked how to remove masking tape residue. I told him to try petrol. Now I meant a few drops on a cloth, he used a bucket full and a scrubbing brush. Quickly turn off all electrics !
It was Dolphin Blue at £2.50 a roll (much cheaper in bulk).I use generic (unbranded) blue tape for antifoul or non-cosmetic jobs. We used a whole case of something like ‘Dolphin’ brand for our osmosis/epoxy barrier/bottom job and it was flawless. It might be harder to get me to part with £5 for a role of painter’s tape in future!
Several other boat owners were likely to be using sanders. I ran to the entrance doors and tripped the main switch. That seemed the least risky.DO NOT TOUCH ANY ELECTRICS!
VACATE AND VENTILATE.
I know - we’re talking about antifoul/bottom paint, right?! Wouldn’t waste 3M, Scotch, Frog etc. on that.Who cares about a sharp line when you are in the briney and motoring on?
