Please folks can we quit this childish ”my gang, your gang” nonsense?
I’m a user of half a dozen or more sailing BBs and few of them bother with name calling over the fence. Can we behave a little better? , And I mean “we” ‘cos I read and (mostly) enjoy Scuttlebutt and BYM equally. Now it seem like half my friends dislike or are irritated by the other half.
Snap out of it and try to behave like grownups , please.

I'm losing this big time! Perhaps Kim, you will tell us what exactly was the "crime" that Endy and Humperdinck committed?

Did they post obscenities, profanities, insults, - what exactly??

I have just looked through the Scuttlebutt postings, and can see nothing there that in any way justifies all the fuss that is being made.

So, they posted under different names, it happens all the time on all Boards, so why did you make all the fuss?

I have never been able to register as Andrea, "D" or otherwise, so I too post here under a different nom de plume - is that a crime too, will I be blackballed and drummed off the Board and publicly humiliated as as well?

Am I mistaken, is Scuttlebutt still a sailing board, or an old womans sewing circle, because that's what it appears to be!

Let me remind you Kim, that much of this latest antagonism has been brought about by you consistently removing references to BYM, for what I reason I really don't know, as both Boards are entirely different, and yet many people regularly post on both.

Lets have a sense of reality here Kim, and for goodness sake let both Boards co-exist in harmony.

Quite right Ian you are correct we are adults and should act like adults. I post on both BB's I certainly won't get involved trying to argue who's best, why does it matter so much, I like both so I use both, each has it's own personality and peculiarities which I enjoy. But I was offended by Kim editing my post when I neither broke any laws that would endanger IPC, I have never abused and offended anyone plus for what it matters I use my real name. Long live both BB's. Enough has been said let's get on with life.

Ian, I couldn't agree more. I find the backbiting in both directions very off-putting and only reflects badly on those who bite. Quite an unpleasant atmosphere has come out of the woodwork. I for one have been visiting the boards less, and posting less as a result.

I hope the boards recover a little dignity in the future.

Then he gets found out and told not to be such a prat so he invents a "friend" to speak up in his defence...

Then he gets found out AGAIN! and he still tries to make out that he is completely innocent, doing nothing underhand, all a misunderstanding and Kims being heavy handed?

You are missing the point. Humperdinck told his chums on BYM that he was going to Scuttlebut to get them going with an extremely humourous question about flags. The inference is that we are very hot and pedantic about this issue. He was discovered. That is all. I still am not sure what pleasure he derived from this. I assume the BYM clique tittered to each other about this wheeze but it really is all pathetic. As are those of his friends trying to argue his corner. Why don't you lot just stick to your high-brow conversations and delete us fron your 'favourites' list?

There will always be someone who has to have the last punch pinch or poke, yes just like many others on Scuttlebut have suggested its time to grow up. Now as for cliques BYM is no different than here or any other BB in that from the outside and looking in anyone who is just a lurfer will see a clique. I have posted on Scuttlebut for many years, as have many others that post here and on BYM but remember most that went to BYM did so only because of the abuse they received here. Now if you continue to choose this idea of them and us (remember many of them are us) you will continue to fan the flames which just lowers the tone of Scuttlebut to a level of which it was a little over a year ago, I just don't see the need for all this agro on either board. But I suppose with their inherent prejudices of rag and stick v stink potters that boaters will be boaters and just can’t help themselves as far as being prejudice, a bit like my boat is bigger than your boat or my boat is faster than yours and it cost more so push off.

It’s time sir to stop the agro and enjoy both being a boater of which we do have a common interest and posting on any BB of our choosing.
