Pacific Solo

I am in Panama and about to set off solo for Tahiti.I know some of us enjoy following blogs so for anyone interested mine is chris.bates and can be read at mailasail.
Before anyone asks I don't have an ICC.

Cheers for that, another one added to the rss feed.

Fair winds:cool:

Best of luck Chris- we did it (2 up, not solo) this time last year- was fab. (Check out our blog if you want).(btw wasn't it great seeing sloths just hanging about in the trees by the side of the road!) We are in Brisbane Australia at the mo, just getting ready to go north then across the Indian Ocean, probably missing out Indonesia- (run out of dosh, so the CAIT and visa is a tad expensive)- so Xmas is, Cocos keeling, Rodriguez Mauritius Reunion South Africa. My personal favourites- Marquesas; not so fond of Tahiti and Bora Nora, really loved Tonga, New Caledonia surprisingly interesting.
If doing it again would like time to do the Tuamotos, and perhaps Palmerston Atoll- we got close but weather dictated that we sailed on by.
Keep a good look out for a surprisingly long way (100 nm) past Las Perlas-, we were approached by some lovely young men in a skiff brandishing machetes-thought our number was up but they were just looking after some long line fishing nets that we nearly snagged.... anyway, how exciting, have a ball.
