P.C. Based Chart plotters

Its also pretty useful for wrapping up food too John..... You should try it!

I found that it makes it a bit chewy though Mike.

Another possible avenue. Having long term sailing in mind, we considered the cost of number the of electric charts required was high and with malfunctions in mind we wanted paper charts available anyway. So we have gone down the Yeoman Plotter route, very happy with it as a good compromise.

Firstly what do i need to be able to load disply and use echarts on my PC? Which are the easiest to get from an online sourse? Where i am it is quite legal to download from P2P is there a source of charts i can download and use??and with what?? i have seaclear but its not easy to set up.

What can a yeoman plotter do to help in navigation? they are quite expensive as well.i saw one in a shop in 1980? but never since.

This weekend i was given most of the charts i need for spain--French waterproof and some US ones-not water proof, id like some echarts just to cover areas i dont have charts for just in case i find my self there, then i can supliment my large scale general chart.

Alternativly and better would be if i could find a source to download and printout large scale charts of bays and ports is there such a source??
