Hi we are looking for a traditional looking boat with modern cons. We came up to this ad in apolloduck.com for a Oysterman 22, looks great at a reasonable price, anybody who has experience with this boat?
All advice is welcome
Regards
Walter

I have sailed on one a couple of times. Amazingly solid build, and feels like a much bigger boat than her 22'. Standard of interior fit out varies a bit. Nice deep cockpit that will look after you. A lot more boat than a shrimper but at a similar second hand price.

couldn't agree more - feels much more like a proper yacht than a shrimper/crabber, beautiful safe feeling cockpit, loads of room below... my mate's got one - and he's 6'5"! Well built - has a real solid quality feel about it.

Just one point if I am looking at the correct advert on Apolloduck, it is shown as a 31 ft boat.

Apologies if I am stating the obvious, but since you are new to this; The Oyster 22 is 22ft with a dirty great bowsprit. Not a 31ft boat as you may have thought.

However all I have ever heard about the Oyster is good, but then it should be at that price!

All best Nick

Thank you for your remark, but I was aware of her lengthy bowsprit..
I had a look at her, and I can agree with most of you, it is a real "boat" inspite of her length. and compared to a Shrimper that was for sale too, ( although for much more money) I am convinced I would get a lot more boat for the money.
Just try to get some ends together, and maybe we meet next season...
Thanks
