Oyster Yachts gone into administration

I wish some of the oblivious DT lovers here could talk to some of the Oyster owners who had to rescue their Oysters from the bankrupcy. The sinking of Polina Star and it's aftermath is just a smoke screen to cover up a LOT more and most certainly not the reason the previous dutch owners pulled the plug. But it's water under the bridge now. Oyster is in safe hands and probably going to be stronger than ever.

I wish them well at Fairline. I give it less than 2 years.

Another comment from you that hints at dark goings on behind the scenes but never actually details anything specific. You've done this a lot on this thread. Any chance of a bit more candour?

Maybe, but only because Mr Hadida has more money than he knows what to do with, and has embarked on an emotional journey to save Oyster. It's a vanity project. He'll no doubt "invest" tens of millions in his quest, but is unlikely ever to see a return.

I totally agree with you pvb. Evenso, some people collect stamps, others like a weekly lap dance; Mr Hadida likes to make Oysters. Each to their own.

Has anyone actually bought a new Oyster since the new owner took over?

I think they were at the Boat Show, because on the Thursday morning a young man with an Oyster polo shirt pushed past all the people queueing to get off the 9.40 Hythe ferry. His attitude seemed to be well in keeping with traditional Oyster brand values.

Daydream believer: yes, although 90% of communications are about who is CFO, COO, CEO, CPO and many other Officers, there was also 1 statement: " we sold one!" an Oyster 745.

Must be building them for stock then, during my visit factory was busy
Why post these snippets of information you claim to possess? The Oyster business was, as it should have been, well publicised by its administrators and many potential suitors ran their slide-rules over the business including some on here. Whether by reason of NDA or good manners, it would seem all of the posters who had sight of this information have stepped back from this thread. It's over, Oyster has a new owner and the vast majority of us wish him and his workforce well. Why stand at the bar at 1 a.m. banging on about it when everyone's gone home?
