Shame there wasn't a Shotley berth holder about, we always keep an eye out for sinking boats.
Hmmm, not sure that Shotley currently has bragging rights about sinking boatshttp://www.ybw.com/forums/showthrea...unk-in-Shotley-Marina/page2&highlight=bonfire
PS: Not having a serious dig at Shotley, they are a good outfit and this is not their fault]
Just to update all the previous posts, Blue Shoal's owner had already been alerted by a fellow Orwell YC member and was onboard pumping out when Fox's came to take a look. They are now fixing his starter motor, as that had got somewhat wet...
Blue Shoal is being lifted out today for the winter at Orwell YC.
For anyone interested in this well known East Coast boat, I have posted some more info on her in another thread headed Blue Shoal
I thought I saw Blue Shoal in trouble at Harwich a few days ago but it appeared to make land. I was some way from the boat so I am probably mistaken.

Well, that's a really useful bit of information![]()

It was the sinking squibbler mentionedSailorman, I cannot see what the flickr photo has got to do with Blue Shoal? Would it be better to start a new thread?
Hi JeffHi All
I am the owner of Blue Shoal and I can confirm that she is now safely on dry land with her cover on. She was indeed very low in the water and an Orwell Yacht Club member alerted me to her distress. A leak in the garboard seam was the cause of the problem. Thanks for your concern and to Fox's who not only sent out their work boat to investigate but were able to sort out my starter motor in short order on Monday.
I can also confirm that Blue Shoal was not the boat in distess at Harwich.
