Owner of Blue Shoal moored off Fox's..

Just to update all the previous posts, Blue Shoal's owner had already been alerted by a fellow Orwell YC member and was onboard pumping out when Fox's came to take a look. They are now fixing his starter motor, as that had got somewhat wet...
Blue Shoal is being lifted out today for the winter at Orwell YC.
For anyone interested in this well known East Coast boat, I have posted some more info on her in another thread headed Blue Shoal

I thought I saw Blue Shoal in trouble at Harwich a few days ago but it appeared to make land. I was some way from the boat so I am probably mistaken.

Shame there wasn't a Shotley berth holder about, we always keep an eye out for sinking boats.

I don't know how many watching were Shotley berth holders :-) It was a strange situation as ABP would not allow public access. Fire Engines pumped it out and then left and the next day all that could be seen was the top of the masts which hardly show on the photographs I took. It was eventually lifted by a couple of cranes from a well known local company. It then sat in the ship yard for a few years where I photographed it some more and then it was taken away. I have no idea what happened to it. At SYH one day I thought something was wrong and then I saw the dredgers roof just about showing. It had sunk overnight.

Which bit are you probably mistaken about

a) that it was Blue Shoal;
b) that it was in trouble;
c) that it was in Harwich; or
d) that it appeared to make land?
e) combinations of the above including it wasn't Blue Shoal and it wasn't in trouble ?
:encouragement:

Hi All

I am the owner of Blue Shoal and I can confirm that she is now safely on dry land with her cover on. She was indeed very low in the water and an Orwell Yacht Club member alerted me to her distress. A leak in the garboard seam was the cause of the problem. Thanks for your concern and to Fox's who not only sent out their work boat to investigate but were able to sort out my starter motor in short order on Monday.

I can also confirm that Blue Shoal was not the boat in distess at Harwich.
