overnight anchor

That's well posh then, like Nick's :-). "Why risk hitting the boats behind?" I don't think I am risking it, cos the clutch is ok. On the contrary, I'd say why take away the benefit of hearing the chain if it starts grinding on the roller, cos that's a handy wake up call that the sea/wind just got a bit dodgy. I can also weigh anchor much faster in an emergency, sans snubber. Just imho!

Sorry, the point I was trying to make is that anchoring overnight is a safe practice but if you need six times depth to hold then it would probably be so windy or rough that nobody would want to be there at all! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
