Over, Out and Over and Out

Well said Alistair, you seem disicplined and have obviously had some previous military training or perhaps been to jail /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I have this horrendous image of you on night manouvres, Pete. Please tell us what you carried in your emergency rations pack? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well let's say I was NEVER short of ammunition /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Anyway how about introduncing 'over' and 'out' in posts, that way if you did not require a response you would say 'out' if you were expecting a response you would say 'over'. That way we could save on unnecessary use of server space 'over'.

I would get into this but I gotta get down to my boat. Wiring to do and drive plate to fix.

Out.

Note to everyone on here I KNOW WHAT "OVER" MEANS AND I KNOW WHAT "OUT" MEANS/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Right okay, so I can see that in some cases (bad reception, foreign people e.t.c) the use of "over" is a great help. However it is the idiots that call up on Ch16 that I get annoyed with:
"Yacht Mongoose this is Yacht Annoying on Ch16...(huge pause)......OOOVVVEERRR"
"Yacht Annoying this is Yacht Mongoose,,,yes...(huge pause) OOOVVVEEERRR"
"Yacht Mongoose this is Yacht Annoying, do you want to go to Ch77???? OOOVVVEEERRR"
"Yacht Annoying this is Yacht Mongoose,,,,,,erm,,,,yes okay then,,,,OOOVVVEEERRR"
"Yacht Mongoose...OOOOOOOUUUUUUTTTTTT"

GRRRRRR!!!!! That really annoys me/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Just coming up 9 pm Alistair. So a little while yet. Actually have been thinking of doing some research on all the rising and going to bed times, who works, who spends all of work time on the forum, etc.

John

/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif OK it's the Scots inner discipline then, I am a Scot so I have had the benefit of both /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Regarding research, why not make it a new posting (cause we don't want to impose on Moose's excellent posting), b/4 going to bed, and by the time you wake up, you will have had plenty of replies..

As for me; Get up 0700hrs
Go to bed 2300hrs
On forum at work only between 0800 & 1700hrs Mon-Fri only, (i do not have a comp. at home).

Cheers....

Alistair...
