Any known compatability issues between a volvo 290 dpa and a 290 dpe. How can I identify the gear ratio on the dpe? The dpa is 1:95. Many thanks.

Should be able to figure ratio by counting turns of prop compared to input shaft.
As for compatibility, I would guess not. Between DPA and DPE there were changes to teh transom shield and intermediate housing. I think it was with the DPC, so may not be a straight swap.

Many thanks for that. I suspected that I might have a transom assembly issue. The dpe drive comes with its otiginal transom assembly but I don't want to get into swapping all that. Just looking for a straight (uncomplicated, simple, quick,) swap.
