Also, if you go to the Aquarium on Southsea sea-front one of their wall signs mentions "the sea bed can seem quite baron".

This annoys me as well.

I had a problem of whether to laugh or cry when I saw the banner headline in our local rag.

I am furious to get a letter from a lawyer who cannot spell or use grammar.

Usually the content is crap too.

Favourite riposte for this..

I'm afraid that the absolute worst of all, which really causes angst, is "meter" rather then "metre" or alternatively "metre" rather then "meter". One measures units (an electricity meter) whereas the other is a measure of length "metre".
