I don't see that running a slightly dirty mower for an hour? a week harms the environment that much. (Or an outboard)

Old outboard have issues too.
Is it the emission controls that cause outboard to be so troublesome?

You should have seen the smoke cloud from the neigbour of a place I was sorting out the other day. I really thought he had lit a wet bonfire, until I smelt the oïl. Good old Briggs and Scrapem pouring out pollution.

Small Hondas have a rep for starting probs. I think one of our forumites reams the jets out a bit to make them easier on the ones he fixes.

Parsons is one of the Chinese cheepies?

Suffolk Colt lawnmower needed a spark plug clean-up before it would go (on last year's petrol) this spring - whatever next?
Seagull started straight away, though!

Finally got round to taking out the carburettor yesterday and got it cleaned. Had a lot of sludgy deposits. Started on first pull of the cord.

This post gives me some hope for my 3.3 Mercury which seems to have died over the winter . Never have any issues with starting the lawnmower each season though.
