Replaced out-drive bellows on our DP-G drives today. Christ, what a ball-breaker!
Just for anyone else.... make up a little trolley out of timber and put small wheels on the bottom, makes the job a LOT easier.
Also, as GaryO showed, to get the pins out that hold the out-drive to the transom shield, make up your own puller using threaded bar, some nuts / washers and the weight from a slide hammer - they popped out very easily!
Good news is that the UJ's were totally dry / no rust etc....
Replaced the bearing taps for the steering helmet as the old ones had dodgy threads in the holes used for pushing the tap out. We had to tap in a new thread and decided it'd be best to just place them. For good measure replaced all the allen bolts etc... all shiny now
Next year i'll just fly VolvoPaul over to Ireland, I think.
