Planning my first big test for the new diesel engine next week. Intending to leave Ferriby and head up the Ouse to York. Not sure on the actual date yet, will see how the weather and tides work out.

Hoping to meet up with MedDreamer at Acaster.

Anyone else fancying an Ouse trip or just a meet at Acaster?

Watch the ouse there seams to be alot more rubbish in there that usual, including serveral large stand up fridges and the usual array of gas bottles.

Thanks for the pointers Ian.

I can almost imagine the insurance claim form now...

'Collided with a 6 cu ft Zanussi, just upstream of Boothferry Bridge. The Zanussi was not under comand and of restricted movement, but failed to display the appropriate signs...'

Tom, you didn't throw away you old one did you?

Actually I'll be trying out my new Garmin 100FF for the first time.

Can anyone tell me if it comes with Gas Bottle and Fridge Icons, as standard, as well as the little fishes, or do I have to download them from the Calor site etc?

Shame it's not forward facing, but at least I'll know what object to describe on the claims form.

Well look on the bright side of life I did clear the 100 foot of eel fishermans lines below cawood, even tho it did 5k worth of damage to my outdrive legs.
And that fridge didnt look in bad condition other than the door was missing.
If you collect all the sets of wheels flooting down the ouse the fridge Im sure could be converted into a nice kids go-cart

Yes I see too much of the Ouse anyway.

Please take care to avoid the fridge, it gave us many good years service and I would hate to think that it got damaged by some inconsiderate boater. Don't worry about the bedstead though thats held down by a lump of concrete. :)

Looking forward to seeing you.
