Our Trip to Scotland and Rib on the Loch

Here is a little video of our second day. Again lovely sun but still windy out on the loch

Lovely video again ! Mind how you go out there. Water about as low as it gets just now. The channel markers coming out the river aren’t as they should be too. Stay well away from the green markers, or you will touch the bottom for sure.
Horrible east wind on the Loch just now too. Very unusual and a pain for sure. Enjoy

thanks We had to go very close tothe greens coming in to avoid a tour boat and suddenly off went the beeper and it was only 3.5 foot so see what you mean. Going to see the Kilt walk today ??

We were back there in February and took a run up to Rannoch and then along Glen Etive, not been there since I was about 10 years old.
It was snowing in places but the canoeists were out and about shooting the rapids, wife was frozen just looking at them :)

The Landy ran faultlessly for the whole trip, averaged 8.4l/100km (33.6mpg) for the trip too, not bad for a 3.6l V8

Here is a video of Day 4 this one has the Kiltwalk and out on the Loch again with far less wind. We discovered Inchmoan Island and Both her indoors and me we amazed and stunned with how beautiful it is. We simply were not aware of the wonders of this Loch. I think we are blessed with the weather though

This was our route on the Loch yesturday. Nice trip length

Inchmoan was always a favourite place to go for a picnic and a swim in the shallow water there.
In the summer it can get very busy, there was not so many boats on the Loch when we were cruising around it and still there were a lot of visitors going there.

Loving the videos...Weather has been amazing for your visit too. The loch has an east wind on her just now. Very rarely happens, but even a slight wind means its choppy and harsh. The loch is also as low as it gets, right at the moment too. lots of hazards to watch out for, as you can imagine.
It is an amazing place to discover too. You are barely in the first 6 or 7 miles of its 23 mile length there. Over where you were near the end of the video is the Island of Inch Cailloch. That has a lovely walk up a short hill, that summits with an ancient grave yard at the top. very interesting walk and some really ancient grave stones there relating to Rob Roy McGregor (his clan at least).
Also good to know, is that at Luss, there is a self serving fuel station that you can take a fuel can to, should you need a top up to explore further north. Ardlui is lovely at the top end and the food is amazing. Lovely marina too. Lots of lovely scenery along the way too, with the falls at inversnaid hotel and inveruglas hydro station opposite.
feel free to send me a message about anything you may have in mind. all the best

Many thanks for the kind comments The Loch is far better than I ever imagined and as you say we have only just scratched the surface and as for the weather I don’t think we could have been more lucky

Yesterday was our day 5 and guess where we went in a much smaller boat this time ?

Video below

We kept our boat at Balmaha for a couple of years, better access to the islands for our 12ft tender with an inboard putt-putt 1.5 hp 2 stroke, normally going to Inchcallioch we would use the pier on the other side of the island, had great fun with other boating friends and family exploring the island and looking at the ancient graveyard on top of the hill.
My wife and granddaughter took a boat trip from Luss to the islands in 2019 and they were full of excitement about their trip when they returned, made me so jealous as I had to work that day, they finished off with a meal at the marina at Cameron House.

Edit: Hope you don't mind I have linked your videos to the local Vale Memories and Banter facebook page, should get you some more views. VALE MEMORIES AND BANTER. | Facebook
