Well after months of work our fairline squadron 52 is back to looking her best, when we brought her,she was looking a bit sorry for herself, even broke down before the sea trial, but we still brought her,:) she's had a refit that includes relinning, carpets, leather revived, all external joints to hull and topsides cut out and remasticed repaires to gel coat and teak decking sanded cleaned and sealed, cut and polish that included going over her at least five or six times, and countless other minor jobs ,now ready for our first season with her.
now to try and post some photos :o

Very nice job. I was in Ipswich last week visiting Fairline, and I stayed in salthouse hotel just up from your boat, and I think i saw her from a distance

Do you have any inside pictures?

thanks jfm,yes you would be able to see her from the salthouse hotel, will post some inside pictures ,just need to fine tune my downloading from photobucket,as not quite there yet:)
you are more than welcome to stop by for a drink if you are down again and have a look over her.

looking great! you must be very pleased!!!

can't wait to see inside! looks a great boat!!!oh for the luxury of a flybridge!!!

Excuse me being nosey but did you recently buy her from Essex Boatyards or was she the neglected one that was in Port Solent last year?

Well done, very nice indeed. The Squaddie 52 looks very sporty and streamlined for a flybridge and doesn't look overweight compared to other FB model.

I can vouch for how beautiful this boat is...
The only issues seems to be the stereo volume control only it works on LOUD, and wont switch off until the early hours, the drinks machine only vends in multiples.
Handling can be suspect, especially if you have had prior problems with the drinks machine, but this does seem to improve the top end and manoeuvrability of the rib tender.
Large foredeck is ideal for playing twister from what I remember....

Looks wonderful, I'd like to see inside pictures and know a bit more about what work you did, who did it, whether you'd do the same thing again etc

Hi apart from linings, and carpets, have done all work myself, eby were very helpful, letting me keep her on there hard standing for several months, ware I was able to gain lots of tips, from the guys in the fairline hanger, and carry out all external repairs and works, would I do it again, yes but not for a bit, last boat F43 I replaced fuel tanks on my own so getting used to ripping boats to bits :) next time I would have a longer sea trail,as only had a short blast, because of some minor problems, when it came to bringing her back home, the bow thruster did not move the boat, we were told that battery was flat on sea trial but turns out to be naff ,plotter, autopilot, gps didn't work, wiring not correctly reconnected, need to take some more pictures,as did not take many when doing works:O

Some photos of inside of boat, a before and after photo of leather seats, and one our new stainless steel name, which we are very happy with, excellent quality, price and the company Techstainless could not have been more helpful, no connection with them, just a very happy customer

Wow..... Merlyn she looks superb. Lots of hard work gone into her from the looks of it.

Many happy hours aboard

Andy, that one went to York, and was recently sold in hull Marina I'm told, remember the prop falling off post, that was the port Solent one.
