Just had a first look at the chart and anticipate Long Sand Head, S Galloper, Twin, Westhinder, SWA1 then pilotage in. I'd be grateful for any points to note, alternative suggestions or any other info. My steady 26 footer will probably make between 4 & 5 knots.

L.S.H about 1 Nm to port then 130 Deg Ish to Oostende.
allow a tidal off-set for your Spd from LSH aim to be up tide as the tide does run hard accross the entrance , if your tired ect the last thing you want is to tack into a strong tide

We went that way last year in our Evo 25.
Left Halfpenny pier about 03.00 on the Friday.
Had to motor all the way due to lack of puff about 5 knt average
We stopped for about 1hr for repairs.
Got in about 19:30.
A lot of shipping at the end of the TSS by SWA1.

I know some others pass south of that TSS but I don't think it makes much difference.

Looking at the tides etc I think we will depart from the Deben around about Midnight on the Thursday evening.
Working on 4.5 knt, that should see us in around about 6pm (UK time).
The tide should then be setting up the coast.
