I'm thinking about replacing the hull-mounted raw water seacock / strainer with something like a Vetus 330. There are many cheaper alternatives of uncertain brand but I see that Osculati do a slightly smaller version, also marketed as Aquanet (link below). I can find only one user review (favourable) so would be interested in hearing from anyone who has fitted one.

Plastic Water Intake Strainer for 13mm, 19mm or 25mm Hose

Osculati ones with the centre screw are sh1te, the stud is on a tripod stand over the incoming water so a lot of the crud blocks the inlet without ever reaching the basket.
Vetus screw on lid ones are much better.

I forgot to add the link and have done now. It's the screw-on Osculati that I'm interested in.

I've had one of those for 12 years. Works OK. Lid has a tendency to stick but I use a piece of wood with a slot to turn it and replace the O ring every few years. I'd say it's probably been better than it looks.
