You've only got to look at this post to see that this clearly isn't the case. I'd say this post deals with quite a contentious issue which a lot of people would have an opinion on but we've got what, six or seven people posting about it? And they are mainly people that posted early on who are no doubt seeking it out to see how people have responded to their input.
"The current set up is after long and vigorous forum debate - Kim put the question of how dateslip should be set up, and a it was debated long and hard, so the current set up is really the choice of the forum users. "
Yes but at the time this was debated dateslip was either not on, or had only just been switched on. Little surprise that people wanted to keep things as they were used to, generally the majority will go with what they know (totally understandably).
Anyway, its a moot point, Kim's not going to change it now, but I feel it is a real shame for the board that it isn't set up with date slip as a default with the ability to change away for those who really want to. I suspect the vast majority wouldn't though, given the success of how this works on other boards.
Then again, what do I know, after all I reckon that powerboat owners shouldn't have to stand on the brakes and totter gingerly past yachts out at sea for fear of slipping their G&T! ;-D
