Opps ....... I think I upset a Raggie !

"You only have to look at posting behaviour to see that older posts are not lost, and that many will repsond to things posted days ago "

You've only got to look at this post to see that this clearly isn't the case. I'd say this post deals with quite a contentious issue which a lot of people would have an opinion on but we've got what, six or seven people posting about it? And they are mainly people that posted early on who are no doubt seeking it out to see how people have responded to their input.

"The current set up is after long and vigorous forum debate - Kim put the question of how dateslip should be set up, and a it was debated long and hard, so the current set up is really the choice of the forum users. "

Yes but at the time this was debated dateslip was either not on, or had only just been switched on. Little surprise that people wanted to keep things as they were used to, generally the majority will go with what they know (totally understandably).

Anyway, its a moot point, Kim's not going to change it now, but I feel it is a real shame for the board that it isn't set up with date slip as a default with the ability to change away for those who really want to. I suspect the vast majority wouldn't though, given the success of how this works on other boards.

Then again, what do I know, after all I reckon that powerboat owners shouldn't have to stand on the brakes and totter gingerly past yachts out at sea for fear of slipping their G&T! ;-D

As a matter of interest....

.........what is your view of car drivers who drive through water without considering pedestrians?

Surely this whole topic is based around what constitutes reasonable consideration for those around you or who may be affected by your actions?

PS if ari and brendan really must have a private spat about the virtues of date slip could they please be more considerate and remove themselves to the Website News and Feedback Forum? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Centigrade in my car, but switchable if you read the manual.

"I didn't know boats had brakes "

Next time you'rew going forward in your boat try selecting reverse and give it loads of throttle, you won't believe what will happen!! ;-D

Shouldn't worry, no ones reading this anyway, we must be back to about page five by now!

Look, I'll show you. All those reading this post would you please put a post saying you're out there (you get the additional benefit of maybe proving me wrong, but I bet we don't get much response).

Ari

What is wrong with the south coast

No wonder you are all having problems, I have just had a nosey through Julies site, I had not realised the amount of up hill sailing that you lot have to endure.

There is one shot of a summer evening and the poor raggie is sliding down hill towards rocks.

Scary stuff /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
