operating my own charter biz

Hi Chinta
Certainly not trolling, I have come across the term before and understand it to be someone that goes on forums to provoke response in an awkward manner. I can assure you it's not me. I can if you wish, give you a link to a local Ibiza forum where I started a similar conversation back in July but am involved with many other posts on that same forum, ie a regular poster. I am truly interested in what I want to do, rest assured.

Used to tow a 8.5m RIB behind a landrover defender with a 225 4 stroke on the back. Pretty big but doable. Also had front mounted towbar, great for moving it around with good accuracy in the boat park.
Second that bit and a winch is handy.

There are no properly constructed slipways on the Island but if you know where to go, you are never too far from the right beach to do it. I can name 4 beaches within 3 miles of my house that boaters use as slipways, one even has signs up to show you the best place to reverse in. Then there is also the crane at my local marina. 25 euros and a flash of your insurance and they lift it in for you.
I can think of a couple of places you could launch from a beach (Playa den Bossa and the calla next to Playa Sa Caleta spring to mind) - I would be very interested to hear what the other usable options are.

I used to put my boat in at Niu Blau, on the road to es cana. Also Marinas beach in Santa Eulalia by the river mouth. Pou des Leo is the one with signposts but it is a small beach so pretty clear anyway, always trailers there. I spent a lot of time on Cala Martina, just around the point from Nui Blau and I think that would be a good one too. The secret of the beach launch is a 4x4 and get there before 10am, plenty of space to drive around! You tend to get joggers and walkers at that time who stop for a chat.
My house is in Santa Eulalia so these are all very local to me.

charter bus

do not even try
spain is for the spanish
above all on the sea
I lived there for twenty five years on and off most businesses I had ended up giving me more hassle than worth and I speak fluent spanish

Progress so far- Off to the Southampton Boat Show where I have arranged a meeting with Ribcraft, a go on a Rib and a chat about there coding service. Also had emails back and forth with MCA and have lots of reading to do before the show, they are also going to be there so hopefully get the low down from them in simple terms.
The Spanish Embassy has maintained radio silence so far.
I feel my biggest hurdle is going to be the Spanish red tape, I am going to talk to a Gestor about this on my next visit to Ibiza in October.
Gonad, can I ask what the headaches you experienced were, other than the reams of form filling I am expecting. I am hoping the Gestor will help with this but a warning of other downsides would be great.
