Well, I waited.
FullCircle is pleased to announce the departure of the Burnham-Ostend Express about 0600 Friday morning, after essential technical difficulties.
Have been sorted out.
We have a mainly Lincolnshire passenger list, who have booked the Aft State Cabin with windows for the Platinum package.
We therefore expect to be In Ostend around 2300.

Hope you have your commercial coding sorted out .... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Passage much appreciated Jim , but I wasn't aware that there was an 06-00 , did you mean my usual sign off time when I go to bed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Our plans have been scuppered. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
New masts and sails look great. However, engine was not having any of it when we tried to start on Sunday for a test sail down the Orwell. Checked and found water coming out of the dipstick hole like a fountain!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Pretty weird considering the engine had been run on the Tuesday when the masts were stepped.
Many hours of labour (hard labour turning a six cylinder diesel by hand included) we finally managed to start the beast last night - you may have seen the smoke signals. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Whilst I am sure it is all fine as far as the engine goes, it means we have no chance to test the rig etc and still get over for the festivities as our intended departure was tonight (Thurs).
Oh, and the culprit.....an anti-syphon that didn't. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Hope everyone has a safe and pleasant trip. We'll be thinking of you with just a little touch of jealousy. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah always next year but no fun seeing Sailorman and others going off in the last 24 hours. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Maybe he'll bring us a beer back as compensation. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

He'll probably bring back a few empties /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif but there are other gatherings to look forward to /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Now alongside Half Penny Pier in Harwich following a nice gentle sail down from the Deben
We are now getting ready for an early start.

Neil mean while is heading back home to pick up the passports. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You guys all off to North Sea YC? If nasty waves like last year ( or was it the year before) maybe better off at RYCO - less central, but just a short tram ride from town. Whatever, we'll find you - apparently this weekends f'cast predicts very strong gusts of Duvel from the coast.

The eagle has landed

Very pleased to report the safe arrival of Jolie Brise (sailorman) and Guapa.

No wind whatsoever - welcome sea breeze past Westhinder anchorage; so we managed two hours of sailing.
Secured alongside 19H00 local - bar out of Duvel by 01H00.
They are scouring the shops to restock as we speak.

Very uneventful trip apart from ... dophins /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Large pod - staid with us for over half an hour.
Pictures and film (YouTube) to follow.

Sailorman missed them completely /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Like he said - the devil looks after his own. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Scorching 28° at the moment - no wind.
Plenty of berths available. HM had a load of cancellations from the UK. Something about bad /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif weather. Poofs!!

Re: The eagle has landed

Trust Jim and the Lincolshire massive got there safely, how far off their 2300 ETA are/were they? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Full Circle arrived 22H00

CliveG arrived 20H30 - after engine problems in mid channel. Mecanic arranged for mid afternoon

Morgana got her 16H30

Sailorman returned to UK this morning as he did not like the look of the weather (been ordered to return by SWMBO)

Re: The eagle has landed

Although... might pop in at Levington... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
