Difficult to give an honest opinion as no idea of the 'worth' of them goods going to be transported ; BUT ; might it be better to buy the goods when in Ireland , cannot cost that much , eh ?

Insurance might not be the easiest thing to arrange.
It would entail taking out a 12- month commercial vehicle policy. Some of the questions on the proposal form would be awkward to answer truthfully. If all discrepancies regarding location and registration of the van versus residency of the owner were overcome, the price of the policy would, in my experience, probably be £500+, which would be lost, on disposal of the van, unless the OP transferred the policy to another van in ROI which, on the face of it, seems somewhat unlikely.
