One more knot and we will take you to court - Miserable Grumpy Poole Harbour Master

So here is the truth. I posted this thread having read the thread about this forum being dead with very few contributions. I knew that somthing slightly controversial would get responses While other more friendly threads get very few replies.

Make of this as you will.

So go and pick up your toys
you were speeding by choice to catch the tide because you got it wrong

Unbelievable thread. Breaks rules and then blames everyone else. We see people like this everywhere today and they make life worse for everyone else around them. If they get challenged they often resort to aggression or mud-slinging. Learn some humanity and grace for goodness sake and be a better person for everyone around you. I get it, you do not understand why that is important. Read a few books and learn a few things. Self improvement, you need it.

So hands up all those who have commented that have never exceeded the speed limit in their boat.

And I say again the HM powers are very limited and more so as he has no legal way of knowing who you are if you are in an unmarked boat

Most of us have the sense to abide by HM rules, they are there for a reason. You are in an indefensible postion, you should accept it was all your fault and creation and accept the lesson.

So have you ever exceeded the speed limit in your boat

It seems some people with big cars and big egos bring the same attitude to the sea when the buy a boat, usually a fast boat that they have had little or no tuition on.

If only that applied to me. Currently in a 4.5 m rod and a very old Toyota Previa

yup just thought I would liven the forum up. Could it be perhaps that I never even encountered the HM or did I

what about the convenience of others in my boat perhaps I was thinking of them and where they had to be

Are you so special that you have never broken a speed limit in your boat.

Perhaps you would explain how he could prosecute me. He has no powers of arrest cannot compell me to give my name and the boat has no name or registration so how would that work. He would need a Police Officer and there were none.

had he just told me to slow down all would have been fine he simply Had a bad attitude
Hope the HM does not read your admission of guilt here on this forum.

What guilt. Perhaps you should not believe all you read.

have you ever broken the speed limit in your boat

further it would seem that you need to be doing 20 knots to be prosecuted and then a £1000 fine. Now I know many in here would not worry about that

In my local harbour last year the harbour master successfully prosecuted a speed boat driver for speeding above the 5 knt limit and ignoring warnings from the harbour patrol to slow down. I think he was fined 5 grand. The video footage from the patrol boat with the speed recorded on the GPS made it an open and shut case .
I know you are not scared or panicking or anything, and only posted it to wind people up..... but just something to think about in the future.
