One for the electrical experts. Lost power to 1 mains socket and both electric toilets

So I'm onboard Dune. I had an electric fan heater running this morning and then it cut out. The mains socket seems to have died (shore power connected and all good). I've tested other mains sockets on the boat and they're working. The only other thing that's stopped working are both electric toilets, absolutely dead. I've checked the main breaker box and general breaker box and nothing has tripped. I've been looking through the electrical diagram in the Dufour 430 but nothing yet standing out as a problem. Any ideas? Many thanks.

It's ok, I found another breaker that had tripped, perhaps running the fan heater too high for too long.....

Worryingly the travel adapter I had the fan heater plugged into which goes into the EU style mains socket has melted slightly, this presumably caused the breaker to trip. Crappy quality travel adapters or fan just pulled too much power?

Yes, could well be. Further research shows it could of been pulling 8+ amps and those little adapters probably aren't designed for that. What's the answer, cut the UK plug off and add the europlug? Scarey really, lesson learnt

I didn't think that travel adaptors were meant for anything over 3 amps. I would cut the plug off and fit one suitable for the socket.

No. You can replace the euro sockets onboard with UK style sockets. Post a pic of what's currently fitted and i'll see if i can dig something out that'll be a simple replacement (if you want). Most boats will be one of two makes/models of sockets.

Thanks Paul, I know the brand already but I purposely didn't change the sockets as our boat is Med based and most of our "mains" things are items we purchased in Spain so have the europlug on them, just this heater and kettle came with us from the UK so I think it's easiest for me to just change the plugs to then dump the travel adaptors completely?

In that case, yes, i'd agree that changing the plugs is the best solution.
